JANIE DUGAN was born and raised in small town Peterborough, Ontario. She was a comedy actor in the local dinner theatre in Buckhorn, Ontario, 2005-10; in RR1 Peterborough, she also self- published her Maternal Grandmother’s Book, Songs for Sighs, (2010), Rosa Bateman McGee circa 1888-1958.
Jane’s style is uniquely her own. She uses both a Turkey Quill art using Indian ink and acrylic using paintbrush. Intuitive or drawn from visions, dreams or simply her ideals; her styles are contemporary, Impressionist and realism.
In May of 2019, Ms. Dugan was fortunate enough to attend a Masterclass from the world renowned Naturalist Artist, Robert Bateman. Changing her style to Realism which is certainly most challenging.
Jane is presently studying under the guidance of Robert Bishop from the Leamington area studying Realism. 2020 to present. Interestingly, in 2008 they met at the Toronto Exhibition and purchased a heartfelt painting reminding her of her lost father and brother. Unwittingly, moving to Windsor Robert has become a neighbour somewhat.
Her paintings have been in local galleries for various Exhibitions such as: The Nancy John Gallery, The Gibson Gallery, The Arts Council of Windsor (Heat), and the Leamington Arts Centre.
Through her artwork, Jane hopes to inspire others to respect the environment, to conserve and to recycle and further, to consider the reality of Climate Change and the effect man has on our world and also to consider questions of Social Justice.
Jane Dugan is currently offering First Edition Numbered Prints. These prints are professionally reproduced on Acid Free Artist paper. Her art has been copied in complete detail either on a Giclee Printer or in 12 colour ink. Giclee Printing means the squirting of paint onto paper or canvas, matching the original artwork colour exactly, and producing a print identical in imagery, as close to the original as possible.
A Note From The Artist:
With Covid-19 we are all suffering home madness and the lack of family. I truly hope you all stay well and do everything you can to stay safe.
The original is now in the hands of the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights Centre in Washington DC. Prints are available.
