Hope for the Future was written for youth. Polaris the Polar Bear speaks about the affect warming temperatures are having in Canada’s Tundra.
JANE DUGAN was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario. She was involved in the arts as an actor with the Halls Bridge Players, part of the local dinner theatre in Buckhorn, Ontario; raising funds for the community centre. Her Maternal Grandmother Rosa Bateman-McGee circa 1888-1958, self-published an Inspirational Poetry Book, Songs for Sighs. In 2010, Janie revised and augmented her book with her photographs and illustrations.
In May of 2019, Ms. Dugan was fortunate enough to attend a Masterclass from the world-renowned Artist, Robert Bateman, in Victoria BC. Most recently, Janie has been studying under the guidance of Robert Bishop an Artist from the Leamington area.
Her paintings have been displayed in local galleries: The Nancy Johns Gallery, The Gibson Gallery, The Arts Council of Windsor (Heat) and at the Leamington Arts Centre. Internationally, her art has been viewed in Venice, London, New York, Berlin.
Through her artwork, Janie hopes to inspire others to simply enjoy art, to respect the environment, to conserve and to recycle and further, to consider the reality of Climate Change and the effect that it has on our World. Ideas about Social Justice and Equality are also presented in her work.
